The Internet is fast replacing the television as America's number one past-time. As our society becomes more hooked on the Internet, gaming, and television, our health is declining. Whether you need to build up your muscles or lose a few pounds, the key to fitness is activity. Mobility in action is designed for students and staff to use a mobile device of choice to optimize fitness and nutrition levels. Be prepared to have fun while you get moving and shaking!

Research a mobile fitness plan that works for you and your device. Plan time to participate in this activity 45 minutes daily 3-5x per week for four consecutive weeks. Some sites to start with:

  1. Use the selected fitness app to record your daily activity level and calculate calories burned during your four-week assignment.
  2. Use nutrition app to record your daily dietary caloric intake needs during the same period of time.
  3. Use a menu finder to plan four weekly menus to be submitted each Friday prior to the intended week.

Use a social networking site to make weekly posts (150-300 words) sharing your thoughts about your fitness program. Include number of reps increased from the beginning of the week to the end of the week. You might begin by sharing nutritious recipe links, your favorite workout music/video, or workout tips. Including the number of pounds gained or lost during this period or the total number of inches gained or lost is optional.
